Design research project about implementing smart devices to protect workers from respiratory diseases in coating plants and other industries using solvents. The research investigated the possible fields of application of such devices and design and prototyping of the smart device able to detect hazards and inform the user about the quality of the environment. In conclusion, the prototype was tested with workers in different industries to understand the applicability of such a device and the potential interest of the market.
